Demes Gourmet Corp., of Fullerton, California is recalling approximately 29,052 pounds of poultry and pork products due to misbranding. The chicken sausages were wrapped in hog casings that were not listed on the labels. Hog casings may elicit allergic reactions in the rare cases of individuals known to be allergic to pork proteins.
The items were produced on various dates between Sept. 17, 2014, and June 1, 2015. The following products are subject to recall:
18 lb. cases of 12 oz. tray packs of “Pamana Sweet Chicken Longanisa.”
The products subject to recall bear the establishment number “P-2888” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in California.
FSIS and the company have received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
